Halloween is a big deal here in the Burg, and this year was no exception! Hundreds of people flooded Main Street for Trick-or-Treating and other festivities. We were amazed at the variety of unique and creative costumes and the wonderful mix of ages and cultures that passed by.
As usual, we loaded our famous witch with candy and threw her to the wolves.

HOKIE BIRD
You’ll need a maroon sweatsuit or any all-maroon outfit, some maroon and white sturdy paper, and our Hokie Bird hat. Cut feathers out of the paper and attach to sleeves for wings. Then use more paper to create Hokie Bird’s tail feathers. Top it off with the hat and you’re set!


 

Want to spruce up your porch or yard this fall? Build a Virginia Tech Scarecrow using our VT Bibs, an old long sleeve tee, some boots, and a VT Straw Hat. Simply stuff the clothing with straw, place in a chair or prop up, and top with a pumpkin head (craft pumpkins work best). Martha would be so proud!

We’re thrilled to discover we’re not the only ones reading the Campus Emporium blog! We received another email from a Hokie fan…

I have attached some pictures of my 1981 Ford F-100 that is painted up in Virginia Tech colors. The truck has been in my family since it was brand new in ‘81 and has recently experienced a ‘Hokie facelift’. All of the magnets that we use for the truck were purchased at Campus Emporium, along with accessories inside the truck such as the VT fuzzy dice and the floor mats. I have been thinking about also purchasing some flags in the future to wave at our tailgates.
